Jebel Shams Balcony Walk and Via Ferrata
Our first stop is the viewpoint for Jebel Shams (Sun Mountain), Oman’s highest peak (3009m) and Oman’s Grand Canyon. This off-road adventure provides unparalleled views of the Al Hamra region. After enjoying the views from above we descend into the canyon and hike along the amazing Balcony Walk. This is a moderate hike that passes by abandoned villages and hidden waterfalls providing spectacular photo opportunities. After a break at the hidden pool, we make our way up to the via ferrata. The difficulty level varies as you ascend but the views over the Grand Canyon of Oman are stunning. Finally, we scramble over the rocks for approximately 1km to return to the cars. A truly memorable experience!
